Meet Sean Durkin

Sean Durkin is the CEO and Founder of Municipal Mentor Group, bringing more than 30 years of hands-on experience in local government leadership.

Sean’s career has spanned every level of municipal operations. From his early days driving a Zamboni and working night shifts at community centers, to managing teams of over 750 employees, to serving as a City Manager/Chief Administrative Officer responsible for multimillion-dollar operating budgets and major capital projects.

He’s led communities through complex facility builds, high-profile public issues, and media challenges, while helping staff and elected officials work together through change, pressure, and politics. Along the way, he’s seen what drives success, what creates burnout, and what municipal employees really need to thrive.

Sean founded Municipal Mentor Group to give local government employees across the United States the tools, training, and insight to build confidence, strengthen teams, and grow their municipal careers - without learning every lesson the hard way.
